The Zonal Caretaker Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) northwest, honorable Abdulkadir Tukur Gusau, said all the registers which were earlier issued by the party for the teeming members in Zamfara State were still valid.

This is contrary to the recent announcement by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara chapter Caretaker Committee Chairman, Senator Hassan Nasiha, that all registers in the hands of the party members should be revalidated.

Addressing the teeming members of the APC at the party headquarters Gusau yesterday, the Zonal Caretaker Secretary said, the controversial exercise of the Party Register Renewal in Zamfara has emanated from the national Secretary of the party who connived with saboteurs from the state with a view to create chaos within the party.

“As far as the APC national headquarters is concerned, only those that were new into the party would embark on the collection of the party register as that could qualify them to be considered as full time members eligible enough to benefit all provisions by the party.

“I therefore, on behalf of the APC national headquarters, stand to clear the air on the issue of party register revalidation as announced by some selfish members, that there had never a time when needs to renew party register for members in Zamfara State was discussed by the National Executives”, Hon. Gusau has concluded.

Also speaking, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Zamfara State, Lawan Liman Kaura, has dismissed statement by the former Senator Ahmad Sani Yarima, who called on the party members to immediately obtain new registers in the state.

He further explained that, section 95 of the APC constitution, said nobody has power to invalidate any register issued for a member, unless for reasons related to death, acceptance of any appointment for office by an opposition party, and or holding another party’s register.

Liman Kaura further informed that, over 770,000 members have been registered under his stewardship across the 14 local government areas of the state, adding that, “You are now formally informed by the national headquarters of our great party, that your registers are still valid therefore, you should ignore any call for re-validation”.
