A team of 31 young lawyers from Northern Nigeria are set to help support and protect Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, who is facing charges in the United States of America.
The 31 young lawyers from Northern Nigeria who addressed Journalists in Kaduna said they would provide free protection services to DCP Abba Kyari, in particular the protection of his rights which is being violated by a US court ruling.
Barrister Sanusi Bappah Salisu, a spokesman for the 31 lawyers, said they would review all the steps taken by the FBI to bring Kyari to justice in the trial of cybercriminal, Ramon Abbas, better known as Hushpuppi.
He said they would also raise questions about Kyari’s alleged violation of human rights and freedoms, in accordance with Articles 6 and 7 of the African Union Convention on Human Rights, which stipulates that everyone has the right to security. on his own, and everyone has the right to be heard.
Sanusi said the lawyers were determined to uphold Abba Kyari’s rights throughout the season, to ensure that his rights and freedoms were not violated at home and in the USA.
He said their team, which included volunteers, Consist of lawyers from all 19 northern states of Nigeria, from different ethnic and religious backgrounds.
This comes after a meeting of the Northern Nigeria Coalition, in which they pointed the finger at what they saw as a violation of international law, in an attempt by the FBI to infiltrate Abba Kyari. the crisis in Hushpuppi’s case, and the haste of the police to remove him from office and replace him.
The group called on Northern lawyers to work together to ensure that Abba Kyari’s rights and freedoms are not violated in Nigeria and abroad.
