The Nigeria Police Force, Zamfara State Command in Collaboration with Zamfara State Government have rescued the 18 abducted students and staff of Zamfara State College of Agriculture and Animal Sciences, Bakura.
the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, SP Shehu Mohammed, who explained who issued a statement on the Victims were rescued said, The abducted victims who were brought to the Government House by the Commissioner of Police, were handed over to His Excellency, Mohammed Bello Matawalle.
CP Ayuba N. Elkana while handing over the victims to His Excellency appreciated the Governor for the support and encouragement rendered to the Police and other Collaborators that assisted in the successful rescue of the abducted victims.
It could be recalled that on Monday 16th August, 2021, suspected Bandits invaded the School and abducted the victims to an undisclosed hideout.
According to the PPRO, Since then, the Police Command under the leadership of CP Ayuba N. Elkana psc + in Collaboration with the Zamfara State Government and other Critical Stakeholders have been intensifying various search and rescue strategies with a view to rescuing the abducted victims safely.
On his part, the state Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle has commended the Police and other security agencies for the efforts put in Place to secure the unconditional release of the abducted students and staff.
The Governor further said that his administration has taken drastic measures to checkmate and curtail the activities of criminal elements in the State.
He therefore directed all the security agencies to ensure full compliance with the new measures.
All the rescued victims were undergoing medical treatment by the Government and Police medical team before being reunited with their respective families.
