The return of Cristiano Ronaldo to his former club, Manchester United will now make him the highest paid player in the English Premier League (EPL).

The 36 year old player who signed for a two-year contract with an option for an extra year, will earn in excess of £560,000-a-week. This is the same pay that Alexis Sanchez earned during his short stay at United.

However, there was a confusion as to which number of Jersey Ronaldo, who was popularly known as CR7 will wear in the club as his prepared shirt number 7 is currently being occupied by his now teammate, Cavani.

Rule M.5 of the Premier League clearly states that Cavani must continue to keep the number 7 shirt for the whole season and if the Jersey should be given to Cristiano Ronaldo, Cavani must leave the club, or Manchester United must get special dispensation from EPL board, which has never been granted before.

The available Jersey numbers in Manchester United are: 12, 15, 24, 28, 30, 31 and 32.

Some unverified sources has told NEWS SMARTS that Ronaldo may temporarily pick Jersey number 28 pending the end of the season as he don’t want to end Cavani’s stay in Manchester United earlier than expected.
