Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has directed for the shutdown of Telecommunication Companies in Zamfara State for enable security operatives discharge their duties.
In a Statement titled “Re:Shutdown of All Telecom Sited in Zamfara State” as Signed by Prof. Umar G. Danbatta, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the NCC, said, Globacom is directed shutdown all its sites in the State and neighboring states
“The pervading security situation on Zamfara State has necessitated an immediate shutdown of all telecommunications services in the state from today September 03, 2021. This is to enable relevant security agencies to carry out required activities towards addressing the security challenges in the state”
“In line with this requirement, Globacom is hereby directed to shutdown all sites in Zamfara State and any site(s) in neighboring states that could provide telecommunications servicein Zamfara State.” The State read in part.
According to the statement, the site shutdown was for two weeks (from today 3rd to 17the September, 2021) in the first instance.
