The Katsina State Chapter of the Nigerian Hunters Association has decided to assist the state government in the fight against militants across the state.
The deputy commander-in-chief of the group, Hajiya Ummah Dauda, made the remarks when she led the hunters to the office of the secretary to the state government, saying that as female hunters, the bullets did not pierce them and they knew the forest well so they could fight the criminals.
Hajia Umma added that within the group there are hunters who can dedicate their lives to ending terrorism in the state.
“As hunters, we know the jungle very well so it’s best to say we fought terrorists in the state. That is why I urge the government to take this initiative to put an end to terrorism in this state. “
“There are at least 100 poachers in every 34 local government areas of Katsina State. And there are more than 100 sub-counties there. Some of us can catch terrorists and hand them over to the security forces. “So we need the state government to give us a chance because we are ready to arrest them even now.” She said
