Zamfara State Police Command’s Tactical Operatives have successfully rescued 24 Students and Passengers Kidnapped in Shinkafi and Tsafe local government areas of the state.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana psc+ revealed this to journalists while handing over the rescued victims to the state government at the Command headquarters in Gusau, said, the victims were rescued with the support of the State government and police Tactical Operatives deployed to different locations of the state.

Elkana noted that, 4 of the rescued victims were Students of Government Day Secondary School Birnin Yaro in Shinkafi local government after they sat for WAEC Examinations, while One was a Student of Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda and 8 others.

The CP maintained that, the victims who were rescued unconditionally, have been in the Den of their abductors for Sixty Days, noting that, all rescued victims will undergo medical examination, debrief and handover to the State government

Similarly, CP Ayuba Elkana revealed that, Police Tactical Operatives deployed along Gusau-Tsafe – Funtua road have successfully rescued eleven passengers who were abducted by bandits while traveling in the night at about 11:30pm noting that, all the rescued victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families.

He therefore warned the general public against travelling at night, saying the order of the state government restricting movement of passengers into the state at night time is still in force.

The rescued victims expressed their gratitude to security Operatives and the government.
