Zamfara State Government through State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has Saturday commended the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (IDMSS) for the capacity building of disaster managers in Nigeria.

State Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hon. Fa’ika M. Ahmad makes the commendation while delivering her remarks as Spacial Guest and An Icon Of Excellence/ Hon. Fellow at the IDMSS/ACCPN Induction and Training On Global Disaster Crisis: Climate Change Perspectives at the Nigerian Army Resource Center Abuja.

The Commissioner explains that the training of the disaster managers has come at a better time when the Executive Governor Zamfara State Hon. Bello Muhammad Matawalle is keenly interested in capacity building of the State Government Officials for better service delivery.

According to her, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has been training its staffers with the support of the Save The Children International and now IDMSS for effective disaster management.

Hon. Fa’ika urges the participants to be Good Ambassadors of the Institute and work round the clock with relevant stakeholders with a view to safeguarding humanity.

She however been presented with certificate and Award as An Icon Of Excellence/ Hon. Fellow for her contribution to Building a Safe and Disaster Free Society.

The Commissioner who attends the training alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alh. Tukur Shehu Kaya, Directors of Relief and Information, Bashir Shehu and Bashir Kabiru Ahmad dedicates the Award to Governor of Zamfara State Hon. Bello Muhammad Matawalle and good people of Zamfara State.
