Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs, Fa’ika Ahmad Inspecting the Items

Zamfara State Government through State Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has on Friday distributed food items and clothes to the IDPs from sixteen communities of Anka , Bakura, Birnin Magaji, Gusau, Tsafe and Zurmi Local Government Areas in Gusau, the State Capital of Zamfara State.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Director information of the ministry, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad, who said the gesture was alleviate the hardship of the IDPs in the State.

“The IDPs whose villages were attacked by bandits currently taking refuge in Saminaka Area of Gusau, received food items and clothes provided by the Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development which coordinates Social Protection Programmes, emergency response, humanitarian services among others”. He said

Presenting the items to the IDPs who are mostly women and children, the Commissioner of the ministry Fa’ika M. Ahmad assures the IDPs of the State Government’s continuous commitments towards assisting them with not only food and non-food items but also with the sustainable supports for their well-being.

Fa’ika explains Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle’s efforts in bringing numerous policies and programmes for the laudable development of orphans and vulnerable households across the state through the ministry and its stakeholders.

The IDPs during the distribution exercise lauded Zamfara State Government under the leadership of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle and the Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for various interventions provided for them. They therefore Prayed for the lasting peace in the state and the country in general.

In his remarks, the Village Head Of Saminaka Lukman Garba expressed appreciation to Zamfara State Government for the gesture and pledged unflinching support for the continued commitments to finding lasting solutions for peace in the state.
