The Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Alh. Bello Mohammed MON Matawalle, has expressed the determination of his Administration to make banditry, kidnapping and other criminalities a history in the state.

According the Press Secretary to the Governor, Jamilu Iliyasu Birnin Magaji, the governor announced this on Monday while receiving the leadership of the Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) led by its National President, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau who paid him sympathy visit on the recent bandits attacks in Anka and Bukkuyum local Government Areas of the state where 58 people were recently killed.

Governor Matawalle who expressed delight with the sympathy visit by the Islamic organization, briefed the delegation on the ongoing efforts of his administration to end the menace of banditry and other criminal activities in the state.

Adding that, Matawalle who visited the villages where the attacks occurred, assured the people of the state that his administration would trail and arrest bandits behind this merciless killings of innocent people across the state.

He noted that, already the state Government and security agencies have mapped out formidable plans to ensure the killers are detected and brought to book, as a pointer to stop the killing of innocent people in all parts of the state.

He therefore urged JIBWIS leadership to form a special Da’awah committee that will go round the country to preach the importance of peace and tranquility and the dangers of killing innocent souls under the Islamic perspective.

Matawalle said Zamfara State government will assist the Islamic organization with all the necessary support and logistics to enable them visit all nooks and crannies of the country to preach peace.

Governor Bello also expressed optimism that his administration hopes to secure continues unconditional release of kidnapped victims through ongoing onslaughts by the security operatives on identified bandits camps as well as blocking all possible exits against fleeing bandits.

The Governor commended the Federal Government for its committement in tackling the monster of terrorism, and expressed concern against those condemning the administration of president Muhamnadu Buhari in tackling insecurity in the country.

Earlier, the National President of Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau said the delegation was in Zamfara State to commiserate with the Government and people of Zamfara over the recent bandits’ attacks in Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas.

Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau described the killing of innocent people by bandits as inhuman and barbaric, and called on the federal Government and security agencies to provide all possible means of stopping the killing of innocent people across the country.

The JIBWIS President said the group received with shock, the news of the attack on some communities in the State, and found it necessary to come to Gusau, in company of the National Executives and eminent Islamic scholars to sympathize with the people of the state on the regrettable incident.

The Islamic cleric therefore enjoined Muslims to repent and seek for Allah’s forgiveness in order for Allah to grant restoration of peace and harmony in the state and the country in general.
