Zamfara State Government through State Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has Tuesday reaffirmed its continuous support for the improvement of well-being of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable households in the State.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to ‘Smarts News’ by the Director Information of the Ministry, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad who said, the Commissioner, Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Haj. Fa’ika M. Ahmad stated this shortly after a meeting with a delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Gusau.
Fa’ika Ahamd assured State Government’s commitments towards the success of the organization as Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle is committed to uplifting the socio-economic status of the state.
The Commissioner maintained that Zamfara State Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development remains resolute in its response to humanitarian crisis, emergencies and coordination of all social protection programmes in the state.
She however assured the administration of Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle’s support to any organization and the stakeholders who are determined to relentlessly work for the betterment of the State.
Speaking, the leader of the delegation and Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Professor Salisu Muhammad says they were in the state for Livelihood and Food Security Needs Assessment with a view to fact-finding the actual need of the state.
Professor Salisu therefore briefed the Commissioner on the forthcoming Consultative and Stakeholders Meeting aimed at collectively prioritizing on the areas of intervention that FAO could focus on in agriculture and livelihoods.
Similarly, the Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development announced upgrade of the ministry’s Humanitarian and Disaster Contact Strategies for Improved Service Delivery which according to her will create more avenues for the people of the state to have easy access to the services of the ministry.
