One Brigade of the Nigerian Army Gusau held its 2021 West African Social Activities, WASA, day at Garrison Barracks Gusau to mark end of the year Operations and Training

The Colourful Event was attended by the state Governor as Represented Y

by the Commissioner of Security and Home Affairs, DIG Mamman Tsafe (rtd); Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Caius A. Baushe ; Commissioner Of Police, Ayuba Elkana; Emir of Gusau, Alh. Ibrahim Bello; NAOWA Coordinator, Mrs Deborah Baushe and many other Personalities

Highlights of the event includes Cultural Dances by Zuru Dancers, Fulani Dancers, Yaruba Dancers, Igbo Dancers, Tiv Dancers, Idoma Dancers, Fish Farming Dance, Traditional Wrestling (Dambe) as well as Tug of War between Female Soldiers of 1 Brigade and 8 BAD and Between Men of the 1 Brigade and Mobile Police Force of 42 Squadron.

Representative of the State Governor and Brigade Commander ignited the Camp Fire

WASA was an age-long event of the Nigerian Army, meant to celebrate its contributions and to wrap up its activities of the year.

According to Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen C.A. Baushe the WASA events serves as a forum for troops to appreciate themselves, having served and successfully conducted various exercises and operations, while gearing up for activities and events of the forthcoming year

During the event, Nine Soldiers were honoured for excellence in the course of their duties.

The recipients include;

Most Disciplined Soldier – 14NA/72/14 Lcpl Kilani Abdulazeez; Best Quarter Guard Sergeant – 97NA/6414 Cpl Danjuma Kabiru; Best Turn Out Soldier – 19NA/78/3264 – Pte Habib Sulaiman
