As the month of Ramadan commences this week, Former Governor of Zamfara State, Alh. Abdul’aziz Yari Abubakar distributes 172 trailers of assorted food items to Orphans, IDPs, Loyalists and other groups in the state.

Yari who was represented by senator Kabiru Garba Marafa during the colourful flag off ceremony of the distribution in Gusau, said, the gesture was to reduce hardship and support people of Zamfara to observe the Ramadan fasting easily.

He explained that, the 172 trucks includes, 50 trailers of Millet; 50 trailers of Maize; 50 trailers of Rice and 22 trailers of refined sugar which will be distributed across the 14 local government areas of the state.

 “The items distributed to supporters, associations and less privileged includes, 15,000 bags of rice, 15,000 bags of millet,

15,000 bags of corn and

13,200 bags of sugar respectively”. He said.

Each Local Government Area will benefit from a Bag of Rice, a Bag of Maize, a Bag of Millet, a Bag of Sugar over 7.8 Trailer, while Gusau Local Government Area will Benefit 15.6 trailer.

Abdul’aziz Yari also donated 47 Trailers to the Zamfara Cycle for distribution to IDPs across Zamfara State.

He also stated that over 8000  Orphans drawn from 17 Emirates in the state were given 11 Trailers loaded with the food items to enable them perform their Ramadan fasting comfortably.
