Zamfara State Commissioner Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hon. Fa’ika M. Ahmad has disclosed that 300, 000 beneficiaries across the 14 Local Government Areas have been approved for the Cash Transfer Programme in the state.
Hon. Fa’ika M. Ahmad made the pronouncement after a meeting with the World Bank Country Director Shubham Chaudhuri, Reginal Director Dena Ringold, Zamfara State Head of Service Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs Bashir Alkali, National Coordinator National Social Investment Programmes(NSIP) Dr Umar Bindir, National Coordinator National Social Safety-Net Mr Apera Lorwa and National Programme Coordinator Conditional Cash Transfer Hajiya Halima Shehu in Abuja.
The Commissioner explained that the approval for the 300, 000 beneficiaries for Zamfara State was part of the issues discussed during the meeting adding that the development will immeasurably boost economy of the state.
Fa’ika Ahmad stated that the 300, 000 beneficiaries from the 14 Local Government Areas will benefit from the programme as against the initial 130, 673 beneficiaries from 6 LGAs previously approved.
She assured Zamfara State Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs continuous and harmonious coordination of all the livelihood and empowerment programmes from relevant organisations aimed at improving the economic growth of the vulnerable people of the state.
The Commissioner revealed that the successes achieved was as a result of the marvelous support from Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle reassuring that the people of the state will continue to benefit more from the Social Protection Programmes occasioned by the ministry.
