Emir of Dansadau and Zurmi, Alh. Hussaini Umar and Alh Abubakar Atiku respectively were today arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Gusau for alleged conspiracy and aiding banditry.

There was a mild drama during silent arraignment as the presiding judge was not in the Court, a situation that led to a gentleman agreements between the counsels to the Plaintiff and that of the Defendants and subsequently adjourned the sitting until tomorrow, Thursday in anticipation of the chief magistrate to be in the court.

According to a Counsel of the Defendants, Barrister Ahmad Kwatarkwashi of PM Lasco Chambers “The government was not able to arraign the two emirs for obvious security reasons”

The two emirs were suspended and have been in Government custody for several Months without trial.

Smarts News Nigeria has gathere, some human Rights activists mounted pressure on Zamfara State Government to end the prolonged detention of the monarchs by arraigning them before a court of competent jurisdiction for justice on the allegations leveled against the duo emirs.

However, no any official statement either from government or security agencies as regards to the arraignment.

It could be recalled that, Zamfara State Government has accused some traditional leaders for collaboration with bandits in the state.

The embattled emirs are currently in government custody, pending their arraignment
