Scores of Islamic organisations are now organizing feeding platforms as a succor to Nigerian Muslims during the Ramadan fasting.

Already, the COVID-19 pandemic and insecurity are having toll on Nigerians who have been unable to go to their workplaces, but several feeding programmes are in the offing to relief Muslims during Ramadan.

Among the groups is Kaura Namoda Youths Connect , which is set to feed about 2000 Muslims across Kaura Namoda Local Government Area during the Ramadan fast. The founder of the NGO, Malam Mubarak Liman Nasiru Liman, said that this is the second in the series since 2020 when the group was established.

He said: “ Today we are at the Kaura Namoda General Hospital, We plan to cover the major towns and Villages of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area in which most of our members reside. They include Kaura Namoda Town, ‘Yankaba, Barkeji, Kasuwar daji, Banga, Kurya Madaro, Dan Isah amongst others.”

“Our usual practice is to give raw food stuff such as rice, beans, garri, wheat, semovita and groundnut oil, amongst others.
“The target is to feed about 2000 people across the Local Government Area”, adding that “This year’s feeding exercise will gulp about Five Hundred thousand naira to feed 2000 people.”

“However, because of the insecurity in the state, we decided to give Cooked food and some palliatives to each of our beneficiaries.

In his Remarks the Emir of Kaura Namoda Major Sanusi Muhammad Asha (rtd) who was heavily represented by Dan Mamman of Kaura Namoda, Malam Nasir Aminu, Kaura Namoda Commend the group for the kind gesture and pray to Allah to reward the youths abundantly.

The Emir also urge other groups, Wealthy individuals, Governmental and Non Governmental Organizations to imitate same efforts.
